There will be war... but who will be fighting who? Find out the answers - in VATICAN ABDICATOR!
Vatican Abdicator Vatican Assassin Trilogy Book 3 eBook Mike Luoma
Bernard Campion has enjoyed quite a ride during his 'eventful' life. Con-man - priest - assassin - ambassador. And in this closing chapter of the Vatican Assassin trilogy, we find BC literally pushed into a role he never dreamed he be considered for, nor indeed wanted: Pope. (BC Pope?) Yes, you heard me. Due to the ravages wrought by deadly plague, civilization has been decimated, and the New Catholic Church need someone at the helm with the panache to get things done. All well and good...but do you remember those strange headaches BC was plagued with in the other stories? Well, he's discovered the reason behind them - and its nothing to do with overwork or overindulgence. What's more, there's a connection between those headaches and the viral menace chewing its way through humanity. So, BC needs to get busy. The trouble is, being Pope kinda hinders the things he needs to be getting on with, and all the more so when supposedly 'friendly' aliens step in out of the blue to offer their assistance.
What might be their motive, do you think? Benevolence? Or - as BC suspects - bene-violence!
With action and betrayal aplenty, this concluding episode will intrigue and delight you, and, as you'll come to see, leave you feeling shocked...for there's one hell of a twist at the end.
A fitting conclusion to an entertaining story.

Vatican Abdicator Vatican Assassin Trilogy Book 3 eBook Mike Luoma Reviews
As the second book in this trilogy , I found it just as compelling as the first one, just got better.
This the second of a trilogy has a very interesting premise and was an enjoyable read. I can see where 300 years from the time of this story BC could evolve into a religious figure.
Alright first let me ask a question. Do you like Heinlein, Asimov, Clarke, Robinson, Niven, Hamilton? If you like any or all of those authors and their works, you'll like this series too. A great spacer trilogy that gives you a little of everything you'd want and at times makes you wonder if you are reading some lost work by Clarke, Asimov, or Heinlein but at the same time having a distinct flair that is Mike Luoma. Check this trilogy out, then read past it in the same world with the Alibi Jones stories.
The 4-star rating for this book is my own personal weighting for new authors, good pricing, plot and readability. I wouldn't give Arthur C Clarke 4 stars if he wrote this book at the end of his career...on second thought....maybe I would! Compared with Star Wars, for example, the Ambassador trilogy is well above thin script by Lucas, but people seem to fawn all over Lucas. This story has a lot more depth than "Luke! I am your father!" Yeah, right, George.
The trilogy picked up in the second book with a lot more 'hard' SF. The final book of the trilogy escalated the drama, technology and action. It was a very satisfying wrapup to the trilogy. Unlike some trilogies, I believe Mike built a pretty complex scenario and brought forth a better than average 3-course meal for those folks who enjoy SF and space operas.
I'd give this a Young Reader type of style although some of the topics and the liberal use of the "F" bomb, particularly in an ecclesiastical setting, might offend some readers and parents (not me, but you've been warned).
